You Really ARE What You Eat...An Important Message about Respecting your Food

Growing up in the south we were always taught to bless our food. To thank God for that which we eat and which nourishes our bodies. I am currently reading a book called "The Healers Manual , An Introduction to Vibrational Therapies". I'm only in the second chapter and this book has already had a WOW effect on me.

You don't have to subscribe to a religion to understand the importance of blessing your food. I am guilty of not doing this properly and intend to rectify that. Let me tell you why you should proplerly honor what you eat.

I don't care if it's a pig, a cow, a pea or a carrot. Everything you eat is an energy source. It was once or still is a living thing. It is a sacrafice to your health and well being. Not only are you consuming it's nutrients on a physical level to help run your body, but you are consuming it's energy as well. Since energy can not be created or destroyed, you are taking in that energy. Now, don't you want that to be a positive experience? What if someone ate you without even thinking about what you were before you were dinner? Just because we are at the top of the food chain doesn't mean we should disrespect our food or take it for granted.

So next time you sit down to eat, Thank your God for the means by which it came to you (even if for you that is the money you earned to put it on your table) but also honor your food for all that it is, was and will be. Take that energy gift and do something positive with it.
